Puppy health

At Cheristone Doodles all our dogs and puppies follow a thorough routine healthcare programme approved by our vet. Our puppies are vet-checked before they go to their new homes.

ROUTINE HEALTHCARE

Goldendoodle puppies

Our adult dogs are up-to-date with vet-approved vaccination, worming and flea prevention treatments. Pregnant mums move onto a special programme consisting of a gentle wormer and flea prevention that’s appropriate for pregnant dogs. Mums receive this at the prescribed intervals throughout her pregnancy and while she's feeding her puppies.

Puppies are wormed at prescribed intervals through their first 8 weeks of life with appropriate worming products.

PUPPY VET CHECKS

All puppies are checked by a vet before going to their new homes. This is a thorough physical examination and includes:

  • Weighing

  • Check microchip is functioning

  • Listening to the heart and lungs

  • Inspection of eyes, mouth, ears, paws

  • Palpation of abdomen

Occasionally, minor imperfections may be identified such as a small umbilical hernia or testicles that have not fully descended yet. Doodles sometimes have base narrow canine teeth which commonly self-corrects when the baby teeth fall out and the adult teeth come in.

You'll receive a written report from the vet detailing the results of this check before you collect your puppy and if anything comes up, we’ll contact you straight away to discuss it - our priority is that all puppies are healthy and happy and that owners are fully informed about their puppy.
