Puppy's name: Reuben
What was important to you when looking for a puppy?: Ethical breeding practices, transparency around health testing, and a breeder that prioritises socialisation and habituation during those crucial first eight weeks.
How did Cheristone Doodles tick your boxes?: Once we'd found Cheristone Doodles, no other breeder was comparable. Becky's genuine passion, wealth of experience and complete transparency throughout the process is unmatched. I'd been nervous about finding a breeder that I could trust wholeheartedly, but I've had complete faith in Becky since day one.
What were your favourite things about the process?: Weekly updates! It's fascinating to see how quickly the puppies develop each week, and it's reassuring to hear about the new sights, sounds and smells they've been introduced to. By the time we met the litter at six weeks old, it felt like we already knew them! There's also a wonderful community of owners on the Facebook group. The Puppy Hub left no question unanswered – it's always been our go-to source of trusted advice and guidance – and the online training course is such a valuable tool, perfect for visual learners that aren't so keen on reading a book! We visited Cheristone HQ twice – once to choose our puppy, and again to collect him. Both visits were calm, well-organised and an absolute joy! We never felt rushed, and both Mabel and her puppies were clearly happy and healthy.
How do you feel about your puppy?: Reuben has exceeded our expectations in every way possible. He's incredibly confident – not at all phased by loud noises or being handled by strangers – and a quick learner. Toilet training has been straightforward (with only a couple of accidents inside the house) and he's always been happy to spend all night in his crate without complaint. He has a low-shedding coat that's just as soft as it looks!
Is there anything else we could do?: Becky and the Cheristone team go above and beyond with everything they do. There's absolutely nothing that could improve the service provided – it's been outstanding.
